A woman who turns 95 this month has revealed that she spends more than 18 hours a week in her gym clothing down at her local fitness centre.

Christine Fryer uses all kinds of fitness equipment when she is at the gym, including rowing machines, exercise bikes and even weights, the Croydon Advertiser reports.

She told the newspaper that she will spend her impending birthday down at the gym and swore that she will still be paying it visits when she turns 100.

The West Croydon resident said that everyone seems to find her exercise routine impressive.

"All I keep hearing is how great it is that I'm 95, but it doesn't impress me at all. I don't feel old, in fact I feel about 50," she said.

Earlier in the month, the Edinburgh Evening News reported that Theo Rubens, 93, was fighting to save the Crags Sports Centre, which he uses three times a week.
