Older ladies should do more muscle work than their younger counterparts when exercising in their women's sportswear, it has been claimed.
Personal fitness instructor Kerry McGrath told the Western Mail that older women need specific fitness routines to stay in shape.
She told the newspaper: "As you get older, your muscles start to waste. Every year a little percentage will decline. So you have to step up your muscular activity.
"You also lose flexibility, balance and some motor-neurone skills, such as agility."
Ms McGrath added someone like former GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips is a good role model for other mums and older women, taking her fitness and physical wellbeing seriously.
