Exercise does not have to be overly taxing, one expert has suggested, which may offer encouragement to women who are looking to don their ladies fitness clothing in order to enhance their wellbeing.
Walking to work is one simple activity that people could choose in the near future, the Diabetes UK care advisor Zoe Harrison believes.
She asked: "Instead of taking the bus to the shops or work, why not walk there or get off a few stops earlier?"
While noting that people should aim to take part in 30 minutes of exercise on a daily basis, the expert added that this does not necessarily have to involve a trip to the local gym.
Ms Harrison added that obesity can be a cause of type 2 diabetes.
Diabetes UK recently celebrated the success of this year's Diabetes Week, which was staged between June 13th and 19th.
