A group of women are set to don pink ladies fitness wear in a bid to raise money for a cancer charity.
The Basin Oars are set to take part in the Great River Race along the Thames next month in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, reports the Daily Gazette.
Jill Doubtfire, Chrys McPherson, Marion Hobden, Brenda Richards and Patti Mead will dedicate their efforts to former team member Jane Fox who died from cancer six years ago.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mrs Doubtfire said that this year's race is expected to be different to the previous ones.
She said: "This year the organisers are reversing the race. We hope we can raise a lot of money for Macmillan Cancer Support."
The Great River Race takes place on September 5th and will see competitors rowing between London's Docklands and Ham in Richmond along a 22-mile course.
An average of around 300 boat crews take part in the race every year, from serious sports competitors to charity and fun entries.
