Expectant mothers should consider donning their ladies fitness wear as pregnancy is one of the most important times for women to be fit and healthy, according to a fitness expert.
Jane Wake told the Mirror that obesity in pregnant women is a growing concern but many females fear exercise as they hear a lot of conflicting advice.
"In the worst cases, women stop exercising at all for fear of doing something wrong - but pregnancy is the perfect time to get healthy," she said.
Ms Wake told the newspaper that, as well as donning their ladies gym wear and taking part in regular exercise, women should re-think the 'eating-for-two' myth and just eat their usual daily caloric intake plus the recommended extra 300 calories a day.
A company called Fit Back and Bumps runs exercise programmes across the UK aimed at educating women about how to exercise safely while pregnant and how to improve their posture and reduce pelvic and back pain.
