Pull on ladies yoga wear 'for exercise and therapy rolled into one'

14 August 2009 12:22

Women looking to de-stress are being advised to pull on their ladies yoga wear and get bending and twisting.

A recent article in the Times stated that many experts are extolling the calming virtues of yoga and suggesting over-worked women and stressed-out mums get out their mats for some yoga therapy.

Speaking to the news provider, Robin Monro, director of the Yoga Biomedical Trust, which promotes the development of yoga therapy in the UK, said: "We get a lot of self-referrals, people who work in the City who have very stressful jobs and need tools to cope.

"And, increasingly, psychiatrists and GPs are referring patients to our therapists, too."

One Hollywood star who uses yoga to help her unwind is former Friends actress Jennifer Aniston who, according to reports, uses the exercise form to "quiet her mind" and help her stay lean.

The actress has previously revealed to Us Magazine that she pulls on her ladies yoga wear for some exercise every other day.
