A quarter of women have used fat loss tablets and most said they did so because they could not make time to don their ladies fitness wear and exercise, according to a recent survey.
The survey, commissioned by Rich Leigh, personal trainer and founder of the Fat Free Fitness Weightloss Agency, found that, of the quarter of women that took weight loss pills, 67 per cent said they bought them from the internet so that they could remain anonymous.
Weight-loss tablets can cause a number of side effects, including headaches, nausea, lack of concentration and vomiting.
Mr Leigh said that these pills can be dangerous and do not address individuals' associations with diet and exercise.
"Although it's been said millions of times, healthy and lasting weight loss is only attainable through adhering to a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet inclusive of treats and regular exercise," he explained.
The NHS promotes this view, stating that adults should do 30 minutes of exercise, perhaps in ladies running wear, five days a week.
