Women looking to don their ladies sportswear and get stuck into some rugby exercise might benefit from the advice offered by one player.
Speaking to Sian Lewis in an article for Health & Fitness, England fullback Danielle 'Nolly' Waterman has outlined a number of exercises that could help such women to prepare themselves for the demands of the game.
According to the player, "strength training, lifting weights and having a good aerobic base through interval training on the bike, treadmill and cross trainer" are among the things that women might want to try their hand at if they are keen to get involved with the sport.
Nevertheless, Ms Waterman did point out that women will benefit most from the practical experience of playing rugby.
England is this year playing host to the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup 2010 event.
New Zealand and Australia are among the other nations that are due to take part.
