Sheffield walking event to offer exercise opportunities

Women looking to enjoy some walking exercise this weekend in their ladies fitness clothing might want to head down to an event in Sheffield.

Ramblers will be running its Get Walking Keep Walking scheme in the city tomorrow (June 5th), with families encouraged to get involved in a number of trails.

The coordinator of the Sheffield project Ben West suggests that people who go for family walks may not even realise the fitness benefits this form of exercise offers.

He stated: "Kids and parents ... get so engrossed in discovering and playing that they don't realise how far they've walked and how much exercise they've done."

With financial support from the BIG lottery fund being provided to the Get Walking Keep Walking event, women will be able to put on their ladies fitness wear and enjoy it free of charge.

Last month, Ramblers launched its third annual Get Walking Day, which aimed to highlight the varied benefits of walking.
