As part of their Shape Up on a Shoestring campaign, the Sports Council of Wales is encouraging women to don their ladies fitness wear and exercise despite the current bleak weather.
The campaign aims to "slim down waistlines and bulk up wallets this festive season" and has produced a healthy Christmas Day schedule.
Bright and early at 09:00 GMT the sports council recommends donning some ladies fitness wear and exercising to get the blood flowing and muscles activated.
"You'll feel far more refreshed after a bout of activity. Doing five minutes each of push-ups, lunges, and squats (in 30-second intervals) will help build and maintain muscle mass," the sports council said.
In the run up to Christmas, drop hints about wanting at-home workout kits, such as gym clothing or a yoga mat and instructional DVD, the body has also recommended.
Earlier this week icCheshireOnline.co.uk reported that a boot camp is to be held in Chester in the new year to help women to burn off any extra weight they do put on after Christmas.
