A week of activities aimed at encouraging men and women to don their gym clothing and get active has begun at Imperial College London.
Healthy Living Week began yesterday (January 25th) at the university with the hope of enabling staff and students to learn more about eating healthily, exercising and managing stress.
Samantha Bell from Sport Imperial helped to organise the week. She said that, as the end of January looms, many people are beginning to break their new year's resolutions.
"Healthy Living Week aims to show the Imperial community, both staff and students, how easy it can be to take a healthier approach to everyday life," Ms Bell explained.
Today, cycling will be focussed on as an example of a good form of aerobic exercise - one that gets the heart pumping faster and improves oxygen absorption.
According to the NHS, cycling is the third most popular form of exercise in the UK with around 3.1 million people riding their bikes every month.
