Students to don gym wear for rowing challenge

Students in Worcestershire are to don their gym wear in an attempt to break the world record for the longest continuous rowing session.

Two teams from the University of Worcester Rowing Club will begin the continuous row at 09:00 on Monday (March 1st), the Worcester Standard reports.

Each of the two teams, one of which is all-female and the other all-male, has ten members.

The men have 11 days to row at least 3,250km and the women need to reach 2,000km in seven days.

They are taking part in the challenge to raise money for Worcester Snoezelen Project - a leisure facility for those with disabilities.

Multi-sensory rooms, music-making facilities, a sensory garden and areas for soft play, hydrotherapy and creative arts are all included at the facility.

According to Concept2, a company that makes rowing machines, rowing is a great way to lose weight, so those hoping to drop a few pounds should consider donning their ladies fitness wear and heading down to the gym.
