Katie Holmes donned her women's running wear at the weekend and went for a jog with husband Tom Cruise along the Charles River in Boston.
The celebrity couple ran with Mr Cruise's adopted son, Connor, from Boston city centre along the river to nearby Cambridge and back again.
Wearing simple women's fitness wear - grey jogging shorts and a black Nike vest - Ms Holmes, 30, listened to music on her iPod as she ran.
Mr Cruise, 47, was heard to shout "harder" and "faster" at his wife as they jogged in the sunshine.
Bupa recommends running as a cheap, easy and accessible form of exercise.
The private health organisation said running and other forms of cardiovascular exercise are a great way to increase your fitness, because they raise your heart rate, giving your heart muscle an effective workout and improving your circulation.
Increased aerobic capacity will make everyday activities, such as running for a bus or walking up the stairs, easier. It will also reduce your risk of heart attacks, angina, high blood pressure and stroke, according to Bupa.
