Tower Running gaining popularity among women's fitness wear fans

There are a rising number of ladies donning their women's fitness wear and taking to tower running, an expert has asserted.

The Telegraph has reported on what is becoming one of the world's toughest new sports and is beginning to achieve a global appeal.

Involving climbing the steps of tall towers or skyscrapers at speed, it is a physically draining challenge that can easily exhaust.

Dragons Den businessman Duncan Bannatyne is one of its adherents and has described it as one of the "most physical things" he has ever taken part in.

He explained: "I'd never run up 42 flights before and didn't think I could do it last time. I started off at the run, but after what I thought were three or four floors I realised I was still only on the first floor."

Mr Bannatyne will soon be taking part in the Vertical Rush, a run up London's Tower 42 that will raise money for Shelter.
