Women keen to put on their ladies fitness wear and take part in an exercise that gets the heart pumping but is easy on the joints should consider trampolining, a fitness instructor has claimed.
Rebounding, a group fitness class using mini-trampolines, is not just good for physical health, but it is fun too, Terrell Pruitt, a rebounding instructor for fitness chain Crunch, told Reuters.
She said that she has women aged from 20 to 80 attending her rebounding classes and that it is so much fun it is "addictive".
"What I love is that it's less shock for your knees and joints. You bounce, you don't jump. You're pushing down, fighting gravity, abs engaged, knees bent in a power stance," she explained to the news provider.
According to the NHS, research suggests that moderate-intensity, low-impact exercise, such as rebounding, can lower the risk of heart disease just as much as high-impact activity.
It claims that this type of exercise is good for those who are pregnant, have joint injuries, arthritis, osteoporosis or who are overweight.
