The average value of a winter sport-related travel claim has increased considerably over the past two years, research has shown, which could interest those who have invested in some outdoor ladies fitness clothing.
Sainsbury's Finance has revealed that the cost of the average claim has increased by 47.6 per cent over the past 24 months.
The number of claims being made is also increasing, with the number of winter sports injuries sustained in the US and Europe increasing by eight per cent and four per cent respectively compared with claims made in winter 08/09.
Stuart McKeggie, head of the Sainsbury's credit cards department, said: "Even the most accomplished skiers and snowboarders can get themselves into a tricky spot, racking up huge medical bills from winter sports-related injuries."
He went on to say that people heading off to winter sports destinations this year should make sure they have their European Health Insurance Cards and comprehensive travel insurance before they leave.
Last month, celebrity fitness trainer and fitness entrepreneur Steve Halsall said that, before heading on ski holidays, women should don their ladies fitness clothing and exercise to make sure that they are in shape for the slopes.
