Regular workouts in ladies fitness wear can help women to reduce their risk of getting cancer, according to new research.
A review of 954 studies commissioned by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) indicated that improving diet, breastfeeding children and reducing alcohol consumption can also reduce risk.
The review was carried out by scientists at Imperial College London and is intended as an update to a similar review published in 2007, based on 873 studies.
Professor Martin Wiseman, medical and scientific adviser for WCRF, believes that this new study is the "clearest picture" of how lifestyle impacts risk.
He said: "We estimate over 40 per cent of breast cancer cases in the UK could be prevented just by making these relatively straightforward changes."
Research by the WCRF published in June indicated that the number of people diagnosed with alcohol-related cancer in the UK every year is greater than the capacity of Wimbledon's Centre Court.
