Anyone trying to shift some excess pounds might benefit from donning their ladies fitness wear and embarking on some walking, according to one publication.

Zest magazine has recommended an exercise plan which can help you walk your way to fitness.

"Not only will it tone up your waist, bum and legs, but just half an hour of brisk walking a day is enough to slash your risk of killer illnesses such as heart disease and stroke, too," Joanna Hall, celeb fitness trainer, told the publication.

When you're walking to lose weight, you need to put on your women's fitness wear and take fast, short steps, beating your heel down first and rolling through to your toes.

To boost your abs, ensure you suck in your tummy as you go, and lift your hips up to strengthen your core and glutes.

If you're after a good cardio workout, you need to swing your arms as you walk - lightly clench your fists and bend at your elbows, the publication advises.

Recently, another celebrity fitness trainer, Steve Halsall, said when it comes to exercising to lose weight, women should set themselves small, management goals to achieve along the way.
