Walking is the best form of exercise that a woman can do in her ladies fitness clothing in order to lose weight, a slimming expert has suggested.
Dr David Ashton, medical director at Weight to Go, said that there are many reasons why walking is a great form of physical activity to take up.
"It's cheap, easy and very effective as a weight loss activity. Most important of all, it can be incorporated into your everyday life," he added.
Dr Ashton went on to say that he tells his patients to not bother joining a gym, just to walk to the fitness centre and then back home again, as this burns calories without burning a hole in the patients' pockets.
He also said that people who embark on diets should cut down on their favourite foods, but not eradicate them entirely from their eating plans.
Dr Ashton's comments come after the recent publication of research by Weight to Go, which found that people following the company's Weekends Off Diet for eight weeks lost, on average, 16.5lbs.
